Fattoria La Maliosa wins National Oil Tourism Contest

Fattoria La Maliosa wins, with an experience among historic olive groves and EVO oil tasting in StarsBOX, in the category ‘Farms, oil mills and cooperatives’ at the 3rd edition of the National Oil Tourism Competition.

The prize was awarded on Saturday, June 24, in Matera, in the hands of Antonella Manuli. The initiative was promoted by the Oil Cities national association, under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture of Food Sovereignty and Forests, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and the collaboration of Unaprol- Coldiretti and the Italian Association of Food and Wine Tourism, which rewards prizes to the best tourism experiences and best practices related to the world of extra virgin olive oil.

The proposal of the company founded by Antonella Manuli was the only one in the province of Grosseto to enter the finals and convinced the jury of the competition, conquering in Matera of the most coveted prize. Significant was the motivation given by the jury: for “the original offer that amplifies the emotions of sky and earth, enhancing the intimate relationship between people and the universe: you observe the views and the stars, while enhancing the cultivars and ancient olive trees of Maremma”.

Fattoria La Maliosa’s winning oil tour leads visitors to discover the historic olive groves in Monte Cavallo, accompanied by a guide, through a route that takes them to the StarsBOX Uliveta, a wooden micro cabin, in which the roof can be opened.

The tasting takes place in this special place, with the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent sunset that sweeps across the hilly Maremma, overlooking the village of Montemerano, and even glimpses of the Argentario coastline and Giglio Island. A tasting picnic inspired by the organic EVO oil produced by Fattoria La Maliosa, with the two products Aurinia and Caletra, an expression of Tuscan cultivars; fine organic oils that have won multiple awards in major national and international competitions dedicated to the category, not least the 3 Gambero Rosso leaves won in 2023.

“I am very proud of this result,” commented Antonella Manuli, founder of Fattoria La Maliosa, “once again proof that our commitment brings consistent success over time. An award that spurs us to move forward in the enhancement of our historic olive groves, in the history of our territory and the oil we produce, expressing respect for nature and environmentally conscious tourism.”
